Nick Jonas and Bayer Diabetes Care Award Prizes to Children with Diabetes

Bayer Diabetes Care and Nick Jonas awarded the three grand prize winners of Bayer’s “Express Your Simple Win Creativity Contest.” The contest entrants were all children living with type 1 diabetes.  According to EmaxHealth each of the 160 participants sent in a 15-30 second video that expressed their “Simple Win” – small, every day victories for managing diabetes that add up to big differences over time. The videos included original lyrics, drawings, photos, or other creative ideas.

The winners are:
• Caleb, age 6, from Danbury, CT, whose dream is to become a major league pitcher
• Bradley, age 11, from Monaca, PA who loves to sing and has written his own songs
• Lauren, age 16, from Gurnee, IL who volunteers with organizations in her hometown. She said “I love helping others who need help because I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by living with diabetes. Having a support system makes the struggle easier.”

The contest is part of Bayer’s and Jonas’ partnership to educate and motivate people living with diabetes.

It was a great experience.  Caleb really enjoyed meeting Nick, Big Rob, Nick’s dad, and the other winners.  Nick and Caleb talked about the NYY, sports, music and they even showed each other their Pods!
