<description>So happy to read this article and learn of the advance in islet cell transplantation.  My son was diagnosed type 1 in September this year at the age of 31.   I was very heavy hearted when I heard the news but the research and the opening up of the clinic in Edinburgh is wonderful news.   I live in Edinburgh and my son in Glasgow so I hope in the not too distant future this procedure will be available to all type 1 diabetics.
