Meredith Resnick received her masters of social work degree from San Diego State University and holds a California license in clinical social work. Early in her career Meredith completed a year-long clinical internship at the Loma Portal Adolescent Inpatient Unit, locked psychiatric facility operated by the County of San Diego, and was subsequently hired by the City of Hope to work in pediatrics with children and adolescents diagnosed with diabetes. This is where, she says, she gained the utmost respect for her young patients, the remarkable staff who cared for (and about) them, and the disease itself. Meredith has since worked extensively in home health with the elderly, many of whom—like her own mother—were diagnosed at an advanced age with late-onset diabetes, as well as in hospice with the dying.
These days, Meredith is a full-time freelance writer and editor. Her work has appeared been published in Newsweek, Bride’s, Los Angeles Times, Orange County Register, The Complete Book of Aunts (Twelve), and many more. She is the adoption blogger for Psychology Today, curator for DimeStories, and creator of The Writer’s [Inner] Journey
