If you could save a child’s life with the flick of your finger, would you? In a few minutes you will know.<\/p>\n

When you take 1:49 seconds to watch this video — and pass it on — Roche Diabetes Care<\/a> will make a donation for life-saving insulin and diabetes supplies to get to children in need.<\/p>\n

Whether you have diabetes or not, whether you know someone who has it or not, here’s your opportunity to save a life: to be part of the rescue mission of thousands of children.<\/p>\n

Just watch the video and pass it on.<\/p>\n[youtube]http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nkLHgK94Z0E&feature=player_embedded[\/youtube]\nThis Spring Roche joined forces with the Diabetes Hands Foundation to underwrite the Big Blue Test above – to accomplish two aims. 1) Encourage people with diabetes to see the benefit of moderate activity. 2) Help the Foundation fund two vital diabetes charities.<\/p>\n

For every view the video receives – between now and November 14th, Diabetes Day – Roche is making a donation to the Diabetes Hands Foundation the entirety of which will be used to assist the Life for a Child<\/a> program and Insulin for Life<\/a>. These two global, humanitarian assistance programs provide ongoing care and diabetes education to children in the world’s poorest countries – care essential to stay alive.<\/p>\n

Donations provide children with life-sustaining insulin, syringes and blood sugar monitoring equipment, teach parents how to care for their child’s diabetes, cover transportation costs for supplies, ensure continuous infrastructure improvements and help to develop new programs. Currently more than 25 such programs keep children alive around the world.<\/p>\n

With 100,000 views, Roche will give the Foundation its largest donation – $75,000.<\/p>\n

If you think your participation doesn’t count, Ron Raab, President of Insulin for Life, says differently. “Every time someone watches this video, it will make a real contribution to someone actually staying alive. These donations go a long, long way. In places we assist, like Ecuador, less than 50 dollars keeps a person who needs insulin alive for an entire year.”<\/p>\n

With your help, children who would die, will live.<\/p>\n

What do you get? The feeling of making a difference. Helping thousands of children grow up, to become farmers or fathers, doctors or teachers – maybe the one who will discover the cure for diabetes, or another disease.<\/p>\n

I would have died 38 years ago if insulin were not available. I’m pretty sure I would die today if I had to, like these children walk with no shoes six hours from my village along a dirt path to get a day’s supply of insulin — and hope I could live on it for six days before taking that walk again.<\/p>\n

It’s so simple to help, just pass this video on to everyone. Do it for someone in your life whom you loved and couldn’t save. Do it because it feels good to do good. Do it because it takes so little and means so much.<\/p>\n
