{"id":15564,"date":"2011-04-18T09:16:04","date_gmt":"2011-04-18T13:16:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/asweetlife.org\/?p=15564"},"modified":"2015-12-27T15:45:13","modified_gmt":"2015-12-27T20:45:13","slug":"whats-next-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/?p=15564","title":{"rendered":"What\u2019s Next?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Now that the marathon is well behind me (although my legs seem to still remember it) it\u2019s time to figure out what to run next. I know I want to run another marathon in October or November, but I haven\u2019t decided which.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Registration for many of the popular marathons, like Berlin, have already closed and the others are filling up so I don\u2019t have very much time to decide.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In the meantime I need to get back to training and figure out what I\u2019m going to do to get my blood sugar under better control.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">I have at least six months until the next marathon, enough time to train well, take full advantage of having a running coach and consider the issue that has been on my mind for the last few months \u2013 the pump.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">According to my coach, and many others of course, the road to a better (faster) marathon passes through 10K races. I\u2019ve never really liked 10K races. I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s because I\u2019m relatively slow or because anyone can run them or because they are over so quickly it seems ridiculous to go somewhere (by car) for such a short run. My best time in a 10K race is from the <a href=\"..\/..\/michael\/blogs\/exercise-blogs\/the-human-race\/11037\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nike Human Race<\/a> \u2013 46:46. That was last October and I have run many miles since then so I am confident that I can break my 10k record.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">My first attempt will take place on May 7<sup>th<\/sup>.
