{"id":19094,"date":"2011-08-23T14:00:25","date_gmt":"2011-08-23T18:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/asweetlife.org\/?p=19094"},"modified":"2015-12-27T15:45:12","modified_gmt":"2015-12-27T20:45:12","slug":"trx-vs-blood-sugar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/?p=19094","title":{"rendered":"TRX vs Blood Sugar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" dir=\"LTR\">I gave up on the gym last winter, and since then I&#8217;ve been working out at home with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B002YIA6SM\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=asw07-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B002YIA6SM\">TRX<\/a> Suspension Trainer.\u00a0 Forgive me while I sound like an infomerical, but for me, the TRX is an amazing total body workout.\u00a0 The only weight involved is your own body weight.\u00a0 No lifting of anything required.\u00a0 And the best part is the fact I can workout at home.\u00a0 This not only means that I don&#8217;t have to deal with sweaty benches and machines in the gym, but I can also wear the big glasses that slip down my nose, pile my hair on my head without looking in the mirror, stay in the shirt I slept in,\u00a0 and I don&#8217;t feel embarrassed for a minute. (See, I even posted a photo!)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" dir=\"LTR\"><a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/TRX-Jess.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19099 lazyload\" title=\"TRX Jess\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/TRX-Jess.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"513\" height=\"383\" data-sizes=\"auto\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/TRX-Jess.jpg 570w, https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/TRX-Jess-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 513px) 100vw, 513px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" dir=\"LTR\">This morning, after less than four hours of interrupted sleep (thanks, Adam!) I forced myself to exercise.\u00a0 I was tired,\u00a0 but I overcame exhaustion with the little jolt of inspiration I got yesterday from <a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/emily\/blogs\/exercise-blogs\/what-it-means-to-climb-in-diabetes-cahoots\/19072\/\">Emily Patton&#8217;s blog post<\/a>.\u00a0 Emily and <a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/author\/karmel\/\">Karmel Allison<\/a> went climbing together, and reading about it made me want to climb, too.\u00a0 Or maybe it just made me want to hang out with them.\u00a0 Either way, I pushed aside the fact that I was exhausted because at 4:00 a.m. Adam had complained his diaper was &#8220;not good,&#8221; although there was nothing wrong with it.\u00a0 And the fact that I spent the rest of the wee morning hours half-sleeping while he watched <a href=\"http:\/\/www.me.jimjam.tv\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jim Jam.<\/a>\u00a0 And the fact that when Adam&#8217;s babysitter arrived to take him to the park at 8:30 a.m., he was sound asleep.\u00a0 I pushed aside all the frustrations and thought not just about Emily and Karmel, but also about <a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/jane\/blogs\/exercise-blogs\/the-murk-between-safety-and-risk\/18083\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jane Kokernak&#8217;s<\/a> ice skating, Amy Stockwell Mercer&#8217;s running, and <a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/michael\/blogs\/exercise-blogs\/running-on-empty\/18110\/\" target=\"_blank\">my husband&#8217;s<\/a> (slightly crazy) running.\u00a0 Being active is important (especially if you have diabetes).\u00a0 Being strong is important.\u00a0 It&#8217;s too easy to fall into the <em>I&#8217;m too tired <\/em>trap.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" dir=\"LTR\">This morning I concentrated only on doing something that&#8217;s good for me and for my body.\u00a0 It was a wise thing to do.\u00a0 My blood sugar behaved all day.\u00a0 I even forgot I was exhausted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" dir=\"LTR\" align=\"center\">\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":53098,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_relevanssi_hide_post":"","_relevanssi_hide_content":"","_relevanssi_pin_for_all":"","_relevanssi_pin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_unpin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_include_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_exclude_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_no_append":"","_relevanssi_related_not_related":"","_relevanssi_related_posts":"","_relevanssi_noindex_reason":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[1501],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v22.9 (Yoast SEO v22.9) - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>TRX vs Blood Sugar | ASweetLife<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Being active is important, especially if you have diabetes.
