\"Perfect<\/a>Gary Schmidt was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2002 at the age of 29.\u00a0 Three years ago he started running and has since completed three marathons, a Half Ironman (a Full Ironman is in the works for 2012)\u00a0 and many other races and triathlons.\u00a0 He’s involved with Insulindependence<\/a>, an organization that helps and inspires people with diabetes to live a healthy and active lifestyle through adaptive management strategies and hands-on experience.<\/div>\n

Like many people with diabetes, Gary enjoys seeing a 100 mg\/dl pop up on his blood glucose meter.\u00a0 About a year ago he came up with the idea for OneHundredBG.com,\u00a0 a place to celebrate “100’s” with pictures.\u00a0 Finally, with some\u00a0encouragement\u00a0and inspiration from good friend and fellow type 1 diabetic, Emily Tiberio\u00a0\u00a0he got the site going.\u00a0 Emily explains what One Hundred BG is:<\/div>\n
