But I can&#8217;t go on without sharing this photo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Cat-on-a-Shelf1.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19907 lazyload\" title=\"Cat on a Shelf1\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Cat-on-a-Shelf1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"314\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now that I&#8217;ve gotten that out of the way, I&#8217;d like to pick up where I left off in August with my <a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/jessica-apple\/blogs\/exercise-blogs\/trx-vs-blood-sugar\/19094\/\">TRX infomercial post<\/a>. I&#8217;m still doing a lot of leg exercises and lunges (see photo below for evidence).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/TRX-141.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19915 aligncenter lazyload\" title=\"Jess with TRX 1\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/TRX-141.jpg\" alt=\"Jess with TRX\" width=\"350\" height=\"469\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And I&#8217;m also being sure to do arms\/chest\/back exercises because I&#8217;m inspired. Thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/author\/karmel\/\" target=\"_blank\">Karmel Allison<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/emily\/blogs\/exercise-blogs\/what-it-means-to-climb-in-diabetes-cahoots\/19072\/\" target=\"_blank\">Emily Patton<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/a-sweet-life-staff\/articles\/exercise\/climbing-with-diabetes-an-interview-with-living-verticals-steve-richert\/19628\/\" target=\"_blank\">Steve Richert<\/a>, I want to go climbing. I want to go climbing for real- outside. I don&#8217;t imagine this will happen anytime soon, since I barely find the time to take a shower. I really do. But what I love even more is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B002NPE39Y\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=asw07-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B002NPE39Y\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">BOSU<\/a>. Never heard of it? Take a look<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bosu.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"> here<\/a>. The BOSU is an exercise tool that&#8217;s basically half of a ball stuck on a platter. The first time I saw it, I thought I&#8217;d never be able to stand on it, and I asked myself why I would ever want to do such a thing.\u00a0 It made me recall a clip I saw years ago of a man juggling tables with his feet.\u00a0 The thought that came to my mind was: why?\u00a0 Why would anyone want to juggle tables with his feet and why would anyone want to stand on a half-ball on a platter?\u00a0\u00a0 These are not things anyone <em>needs<\/em> to do!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19920 lazyload\" title=\"Foot on BOSU 1\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Foot-on-BOSU-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"344\" data-sizes=\"auto\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Foot-on-BOSU-1.jpg 560w, https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Foot-on-BOSU-1-300x184.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It&#8217;s not easy to convince me to try new things, but I put my doubts and questions aside and about two years ago I wobbled my way onto a BOSU.\u00a0 No more asking <em>why<\/em>.\u00a0 It was a fantastic workout. \u00a0 Now I save up my <em>why&#8217;s<\/em> for the truly important questions like <em>why do I drink four cups of coffee a day? Why does my cat have to get into that cubby every time we take out the container of legos?\u00a0 Every time! Why do carbs taste better than all other foods? <br \/><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So I&#8217;m hooked on the BOSU now.\u00a0 And I like what their website says.\u00a0 It answers my <em>why<\/em> pretty well. &#8220;BOSU\u00ae Training is about expanding movement capabilities, reshaping bodies and strengthening minds. It\u2019s about inserting thought into movement. It\u2019s about asking our clients, fitness students and athletes to be physically involved, but to also be <em>present <\/em>and fully engaged in the training process.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you ask me what BOSU Training is about, in my own personal BOSU infomerical I will tell you in one word what I&#8217;ve learned from using the BOSU: balance.\u00a0 And what is more important to a person with diabetes than balance?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Jess-on-BOSU.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19921 lazyload\" title=\"Jess on BOSU\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Jess-on-BOSU.jpg\" alt=\"Jess on BOSU\" width=\"350\" height=\"469\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It does take concentration and <em>presence<\/em>, as well as the use and coordination of many muscles in order to stand on the BOSU (especially to do it flamingo-style and lift weights or catch a ball, lean forward, bend down, squat).
