Nick Jonas, of the Jonas Brothers, has teamed up with Bayer HealthCare for the \u201cSimple Inspirations\u201d contest. The contest, sponsored by Bayer HealthCare, challenges people living with diabetes to motivate newly diagnosed patients by sharing their most inspirational thoughts about living with the disease. The goal of the contest is to enrich the lives of everyone who has diabetes and to demonstrate that people with diabetes can live a full and engaged life by effectively managing their condition. One grand prize winner will meet international singing sensation Nick Jonas at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation\u2019s Los Angeles Walk to Cure Diabetes. The winner will also appear in a video with Nick to be launched on November 14, 2011 — World Diabetes Day.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bayer\u2019s \u201cSimple Inspirations\u201d contest asks entrants to visit\u00a0www.NicksSimpleWins.com<\/a>\u00a0and submit up to 140 words, with an optional accompanying image, detailing what inspirational thoughts they would share with someone recently diagnosed with diabetes.\u00a0Entries can be lyrics, a poem\u00a0or short essay and will be accepted until [October 3, 2011]. The contest is open to people with diabetes aged 13+ years. Nick and a team of judges will select one grand prize winner. Twelve runners up will receive a 2012 calendar featuring the inspirational thoughts and images from the winner and runner-up entries.\u00a0The top inspirational thoughts and World Diabetes Day video will be posted on\u00a0www.NicksSimpleWins.com<\/a>.<\/wbr><\/p>\n

Nick Jonas, now 18, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 13. Since he publicly announced his diagnosis, he has become widely recognized and applauded for speaking out passionately to help other young people with diabetes through efforts to educate, support and inspire. Nick uses Bayer\u2019s CONTOUR\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0USB meter and knows how important good diabetes management is.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough my work with Bayer, I am continually moved by the feedback I get from people who tell me that I\u2019ve inspired them because of my diabetes,\u201d said Nick. \u201cIn turn, I am just as motivated by their diabetes stories.
