{"id":23733,"date":"2012-01-14T18:04:04","date_gmt":"2012-01-14T23:04:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/asweetlife.org\/?p=23733"},"modified":"2015-12-27T15:47:23","modified_gmt":"2015-12-27T20:47:23","slug":"surrendering-to-unfolding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/?p=23733","title":{"rendered":"Surrendering to Unfolding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the last two months, I have been experiencing angst.\u00a0 The angst is not from diabetes management.\u00a0 It&#8217;s angst about the need to create.\u00a0 I know if I give myself the freedom to create I will emotionally and physically feel more grounded.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not a lack of ideas; in fact it&#8217;s exactly the opposite.\u00a0 I haven\u2019t been synced up with the natural rhythm of the creative process. \u00a0My expectation of the outcome and struggle with choosing a place to begin coagulates the\u00a0potential\u00a0creativity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today, in an effort to help organize the thoughts, ideas, and fears that were running amuck in my head I started the day with pranayama or yogic breathing exercises.\u00a0 As I made my way through the four purifications sequence, I imagined I was clearing room for creative thoughts and ideas to flourish with ease.\u00a0 The same way Catherine Price wrote in a blog post about <a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/catherine\/blogs\/type-1-blogs\/may-you-live-with-ease\/22048\/\">living with diabetes with ease. <\/a>\u00a0For me it\u2019s a simple truth, if I allow myself to create with ease than life makes more sense, including life with diabetes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/katie\/blogs\/personal-blogs\/surrendering-to-unfolding\/23733\/attachment\/sweetlifepost_berries3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23742\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23742 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/sweetlifepost_berries3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"570\" height=\"281\" data-sizes=\"auto\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/sweetlifepost_berries3.jpg 570w, https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/sweetlifepost_berries3-300x148.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 570px) 100vw, 570px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/katie\/blogs\/personal-blogs\/surrendering-to-unfolding\/23733\/attachment\/sweetlifepost_berries3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23742\"><br \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/katie\/blogs\/personal-blogs\/surrendering-to-unfolding\/23733\/attachment\/sweetlifepost_berries2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23736\"><br \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After the breathing exercises and breakfast, GS and I connected via video chat for <em>good<\/em> <em>morning<\/em>s over cups of tea.\u00a0 I shared with GS that I wanted to enjoy being home, practicing being fully present with spending time here. Allowing myself to create, cook healthy food for the week, get outside for physical activity and fingers crossed enjoy some unexpected Pacific Northwest winter sunshine.
