Both my laptop and my desktop were constantly crashing, so I decided I was going to go Apple.\u00a0 I love my iPhone and iPad.\u00a0 Why wouldn\u2019t I love a Mac?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">My PC friends warned me that it wouldn\u2019t be easy going Mac after so many years of PCs and Windows, but it has been a very easy transition. Although I found Pages to be fine, I decided to continue using Windows Office (for Mac). I haven\u2019t tried using Numbers since I have always loved Excel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But there is one big problem with my Mac:\u00a0 It\u2019s totally out of the loop when it comes to diabetes. For some reason it seems like the people at Apple (or maybe I should blame the people at Microsoft), the cool techy folks, are very knowledgeable when it comes to slang from the 40\u2019s, but not so familiar with diabetes talk.\u00a0 This becomes evident in the autocorrect.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Generally speaking, autocorrect is a nice feature, however, it won\u2019t allow me to bolus. The truth is, it will allow me to bolus as long as I don\u2019t bolus in the past. (I\u2019ve heard of a pre-bolus, but who boluses in the past?\u00a0 Retro-bolus?)\u00a0 It will also not allow me to bolus in the present progressive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Every time I try to spell <em>bolused<\/em> or <em>bolusing<\/em> it automatically changes it to <em>bloused<\/em> or <em>blousing<\/em>. This has started to annoy me, not only because as someone who writes about diabetes I use these words a lot, but also because I have never used the word blouse. I don\u2019t own a blouse, I don\u2019t wear blouses, and I don\u2019t know anyone under 65 who does.\u00a0 Blouses is a good word if you\u2019re describing the outfit of a woman wearing slacks and carrying a pocketbook.\u00a0 It has nothing to do with diabetes!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I know I can turn off the autocorrect, but I actually really like it (especially since I\u2019m dyslexic).\u00a0 I just don\u2019t understand why the people at Microsoft and Apple can\u2019t learn a little diabetes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":129,"featured_media":53098,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_relevanssi_hide_post":"","_relevanssi_hide_content":"","_relevanssi_pin_for_all":"","_relevanssi_pin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_unpin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_include_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_exclude_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_no_append":"","_relevanssi_related_not_related":"","_relevanssi_related_posts":"","_relevanssi_noindex_reason":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[1501],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v22.9 (Yoast SEO v22.9) - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Why Won\u2019t My Mac Let Me Bolus?<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"autocorrect is a nice feature, however, it won\u2019t allow me to bolus.
