\"Medical<\/a>I was excited yesterday when I checked the mailbox and saw a small package waiting for me.\u00a0 Since I don\u2019t get much real mail anymore, it\u2019s a treat to see something other than advertisements in the mailbox.\u00a0 Before I looked at the package, I knew what it was, the medical ID I\u2019d ordered from RoadID<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I went inside, opened the box and announced to Jessica, \u201cMy road ID has arrived.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both of the IDs I\u2019d ordered were in the box and the information printed on them was correct. \u00a0\u00a0All was good, so I relaxed and started to look at my new toys. \u00a0I admired the dog tag and the ankle ID and then tried them on.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t usually wear jewelry, except for my wedding ring, but I instantly liked the dog tag. I wasn\u2019t sure how I\u2019d feel about being tagged and about wearing medical ID. But it felt surprisingly good. I don\u2019t know if it was because the dog tag is kind of cool (in a militaristic sort of way) or because wearing it is the right and safe thing to do.\u00a0 Either way, it felt good to have it on, and Jess approved, too.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not used to having anything on my ankle, so the ankle ID felt strange. It\u2019s not something I\u2019ll wear all of the time.\u00a0 But I need to test run both the IDs to see which I prefer to run with.\u00a0 The marathon is just around the corner.\u00a0 I need to decide quickly.<\/p>\n

At this point, it\u2019s hard for me to say whether I\u2019ll always wear medical idea. But running with it, especially when I\u2019m alone, or far from home in a place where I don\u2019t know anyone, seems wise.\u00a0 Diabetes wisdom seems to come my way with time.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t all that long ago that I ran without a glucometer.\u00a0 Now I run with one, wear an insulin pump, have medical ID on me\u2026 all that\u2019s left to get is a CGM!<\/p>\n
