\"\"<\/a>Business Wire reports that Calibra Medical Inc., formerly known as Seattle Medical Technologies Inc., announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has given Finesse, the company\u2019s insulin patch-pen, 510(k) clearance.
Only 2\u201d long, 1\u201d wide and \u00bc\u201d thick, Finesse is able to hold and deliver prescribed amounts of insulin over multiple days while remaining firmly in place throughout a patient\u2019s daily activities, including showering, exercising and sleeping.
Finesse is the first of several non-electronic devices under development by the company that simplify mealtime insulin delivery. Finesse represents a new category of simple mechanical devices intended to make insulin therapy adherence easier for patients to achieve at an affordable price point.
