{"id":7228,"date":"2010-04-29T09:05:29","date_gmt":"2010-04-29T13:05:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/asweetlife.org\/?p=7228"},"modified":"2015-12-27T15:45:37","modified_gmt":"2015-12-27T20:45:37","slug":"cooking-martha-rose-shulman-beans-and-red-chard-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/?p=7228","title":{"rendered":"Cooking Martha Rose Shulman&#8217;s Beans and Red Chard Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I spent this morning cooking Martha Rose Shulman\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/a-sweet-life-staff\/recipes\/meal-type\/side-dish\/a-ragout-of-white-beans-and-red-chard\/7213\/\">Ragout of White Beans and Red Chard<\/a>. I don\u2019t usually cook on weekday mornings, but since I happened to have a little free time, and I felt like I could tolerate the smell of onions and garlic with my morning coffee, I decided to go for it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I\u2019m not sure my version of the recipe came out the way Martha\u2019s does. The red chard didn\u2019t \u201cbleed\u201d very much into the beans but it still looked good (at least I think so). And the most important thing is that it tasted great. I\u2019ve become a big fan of thyme, which works beautifully in this recipe with the garlic and onion, giving it a delicate rustic taste. I really wasn\u2019t all that surprised that I liked the recipe since I love all of its ingredients. \u00a0I was surprised, however, when Guy, my seven-year-old son, came home from school, saw the beans in the pot and asked to have some.\u00a0 Then he asked for seconds, and then thirds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/asweetlife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/Marthas-Beans-and-Red-Chard.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7230 lazyload\" style=\"margin-top: 4px; margin-bottom: 4px; border: 4px solid black;\" title=\"Martha's Beans and Red Chard\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" hoping to serve the beans for dinner tonight but I\u2019m not sure there is enough left for me and Jessica. \u00a0The truth is, it\u2019s not such a bad thing since I\u2019m running tomorrow morning and I\u2019m not sure a dinner of beans, no matter how yummy they are, is the best thing for
