Garlicky Roasted Broccoli

I love broccoli, but get bored with plain old steamed broccoli. This recipe is such a nice change. The garlic, red pepper flakes and lemon give it so much flavor, and roasting changes the texture just a bit. It's absolutely delicious!

Chicken with Mushroom Red Wine Pan Sauce

Pan sauces are such a nice (and easy) way to add a little flair to piece of chicken. Using the pan that you browned the chicken and mushrooms in adds a ton of flavor. When you deglaze the hot pan with the wine, you’re able to pull up all of those tasty bits of chicken, mushrooms and onions.

Peruvian Roasted Chicken

Peruvian-Style Roasted Chicken with Sweet Onions

I know that chicken can get boring sometimes, but there is nothing boring about this dish, which I discovered on Whole Foods Market website. It has so much flavor and the seasoned paste keeps the chicken perfectly moist. This is one of my new favorite ways to roast chicken!

Grilled Bacon-Wrapped Red Snapper

Red Snapper is one of the few fish caught locally right now in the Bay area so we’ve been enjoying it nearly every week. The bacon keeps the fish moist while the grill adds a delicious smoky flavor. It’s perfect served with some grilled vegetables or salad.

Fennel Gratin

Fennel Gratin

Fennel is a nice change from the normal vegetable side dish rut we seem to fall into. I never used to be a big fan of fennel (which is low-carb and rich in vitamin C) but when it is slow cooked like this, the anise flavor mellows.

Lamb Burgers

Lamb Burgers with Olive, Sun-dried Tomato and Feta Tapenade

This is one of my (and my family's) favorite dinners. I’ve always been a fan of lamb but this recipe takes it to a new level. Grilled with herbs and then topped with feta and olives, my mouth water just thinking about it.

Sautéed Rainbow Chard with Garlic

Sautéed Rainbow Chard with Garlic

I’ve always been reluctant to make chard – probably because it wasn’t something my family ever made when I was growing up. Now that I'm consuming only local foods I figured what better time to give it a try. I wish I'd tried it years ago. It’s easy to prepare, delicious and so good for you.
