Blueberries Keep Getting Better

According to a new study published in the October issue of The Journal of Nutrition, daily consumption of whole blueberries increases insulin sensitivity and helps reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes in both men and women.  And that’s on top of all of the other great qualities of the blueberry.

Blueberries are loaded with nutrients – a very good source of vitamin C, manganese, and dietary fiber.  They’re packed with flavor, low in calories and rank low on the gylcemic index.

And don’t think that blueberries are just for pies and muffins.  They are wonderful in oatmeal, yogurt, and even make a great addition to a green salad.
