Be Grateful

It’s  Diabetes Awareness Month and Thanksgiving.  Many of us have spent most of the month trying to make others aware of diabetes, and perhaps being extra aware of it ourselves.  Now is a good time to stop and not only be aware of diabetes, but also to be grateful –  not to diabetes of course, but for all the things we have to manage this disease.

So when you check your blood sugar before and after Thanksgiving dinner and you take your insulin or other medication, or press the buttons on your pump, remember that not so long ago these things weren’t available

Be grateful for the tools you  have to take care of yourself, and for all the good things in your life.  Happy Thanksgiving!
