There are any number of adult books out there that I would be happy to suggest for summer reading: Jennifer Egan’s “A Visit from the Goon Squad” and Gary Shteyngart’s “Super Sad True Love Story” both are great beach bring alongs.
But the book that most says summer to me, and the one that has since I turned six years old, is a classic doll cookbook, called, “Mud Pies and Other Recipes” by Marjorie Winslow.
If you know a child, or simply remain a child yourself in some capacity, this book is simply the best low-carb organic cookbook ever put on the market, with sublime recipes for “Mud Puddle Soup”, “Fried Water” and “Wood Chip Dip”. The ingredients are all natural and, in the summer months, free. Just find a sand dune or a fresh mud puddle after the rain, locate a few ripe shells and voila, a feast appears before your eyes.
