One Hundred BG: Send In Yours

Perfect OneHundredBG Gary Schmidt was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2002 at the age of 29.  Three years ago he started running and has since completed three marathons, a Half Ironman (a Full Ironman is in the works for 2012)  and many other races and triathlons.  He’s involved with Insulindependence, an organization that helps and inspires people with diabetes to live a healthy and active lifestyle through adaptive management strategies and hands-on experience.

Like many people with diabetes, Gary enjoys seeing a 100 mg/dl pop up on his blood glucose meter.  About a year ago he came up with the idea for OneHundredBG.com,  a place to celebrate “100’s” with pictures.  Finally, with some encouragement and inspiration from good friend and fellow type 1 diabetic, Emily Tiberio  he got the site going.  Emily explains what One Hundred BG is:

No one around would really understand if you started running up and down the isles of the grocery store for high-fives and fist bumps. No one could truly celebrate with you – your one moment of pure diabetic satisfaction. 100mg/dL…perfect, beautiful…and in an instant? Gone…

OneHundredBG.com immortalizes your perfect moments and puts them on display for the world to see and celebrate with you.

OneHundredBG.com is a Hall of Fame for people with diabetes. The gratifying sight of a 100mg/dL…Post it. Flaunt it. Share it.

OneHundredBG.com is taking off quickly.  Join the fun!
