Brenda Novak, mother of five and bestselling New York Times and USA Today author, has raised over $1.3 million dollars for diabetes research through her annual online auctions. Brenda’s youngest son, Thad, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of five. After Thad’s diagnosis, Brenda wanted to do anything possible to give him a better chance at a healthy life, and so her fundraising work began.
This year, for Diabetes Awareness Month, Brenda is selling “I helped raise $1.3 million for research” T-shirts, designed with an army of gray ribbons on the back to represent the collective effort of everyone who has supported the auction. The T-shirts cost $25 and all profits are donated to diabetes research. Brenda’s store also offers a $50 package that includes her latest trilogy, autographed, the T-shirt and a free Christmas novella that people can give as gifts for Christmas.

Thanks, Jessica! T-shirt sales are brisk. Here’s hoping we raise several more thousand dollars!
