A Dog With a Blue Collar: Get Your Marjorie Shirt and Support ASweetLife

Marjorie
We are very excited to announce that the Marjorie t-shirt fundraiser sale kicks off today.  Shirts will be available to purchase until October 17th.

The goal of our fundraiser (in addition to raising the funds that will enable us to continue serving and supporting our 250,000 monthly readers with great content) is to honor Marjorie the dog.  Marjorie was the first to survive on injected insulin.  (Until then, Type 1 diabetes was a death sentence.)  Artist Jen Jacobs’ sketch of Marjorie is based on a photograph of the real Marjorie.  And we’ve added a blue collar (blue diabetes circle) and a little vial of insulin where her tag would be!

With this shirt, we’re not just honoring Marjorie.  We’re expressing our gratitude to her (and the other dogs), and we’re saying how grateful we are for the diabetes treatments and tools we have today.

The shirt is available in two styles (long sleeve with a small Marjorie on the bottom and short sleeve with Marjorie in the center).  Adult and kid sizes are available.

For every shirt sold, Diabetes Media Foundation, publisher of ASweetLife.org, will receive $10.  With your help we can sell 1,000 shirts, and raise the money we need to continue another year of supporting people with diabetes, and helping them live a sweet life.

Remember, heroes don’t always wear capes.  Sometimes they wear shaggy coats.
